Race on a groomed outdoor ice track in Vermont's beautiful Connecticut River Valley, with alpine and nordic skiing nearby, plus the cultural attractions of Dartmouth College.
Saturday, January 13:
  • 8-10 AM: On-site Registration & Skate Rentals at Hulbert Outdoor Center.
    •
  • 10 AM: 5K and 10K novice races, open to all skaters, male and female, adults and juniors.
  • 11:15 AM: 25K marathon race open to all skaters, male and female, adults and juniors.
  • 12 noon - 1 PM: Lunch at Hulbert Outdoor Center.
  • 1-4 PM: Nordic Skates available for free trial on Lake Morey.

    • Sunday, January 14:
  • 10 AM-3 PM: Lake Morey Skate-athon, open to all skaters, male and female, adults and kids.
  • 12 noon - 1 PM: Lunch at Hulbert Outdoor Center.

    • Prizes and Certificates
  • Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 skaters in each age group in the 5K, 10K and 25K races.
  • Certificates will be awarded to all skaters who complete distances of 5, 10 or 25 kilometers.

     Races will be held outdoors on a 5-kilometer natural ice track on Lake Morey in Fairlee, Vermont.

     Lebanon Municipal Airport, Lebanon, New Hampshire, has Avis, Budget and National car rental agencies in the terminal. Airports in Manchester, New Hampshire and Burlington, Vermont are 90 minutes away. Hartford and Boston are 2½ hours. Montreal is 3 hours.
     Amtrak serves White River Junction, Vermont, with daily train service from Washington, DC and New York City.
     Dartmouth Coach offers frequent bus service from Boston to Hanover and Lebanon, New Hampshire. (603) 448-2800.

    By car from Boston to Lake Morey (2½ hours): Take I-93 north to I-89 at Concord, N.H. Follow I-89 north across the Connecticut River into Vermont. Exit immediately onto I-91 north. Take I-91 north to Exit 15 in Fairlee, Vermont. Left at end of ramp, go under the highway and follow the Lake Morey West Shore Road exactly 3 miles to the Hulbert Outdoor Center, which will be straight ahead of you when the road takes a sharp bend to the right.
    By car from New York to Lake Morey (5 hours): Take I-95 north to I-91 at New Haven, CT. Follow I-91 north to Exit 15 in Fairlee, Vermont. Left at end of ramp, go under the highway and follow the Lake Morey West Shore Road exactly 3 miles to the Hulbert Outdoor Center, which will be straight ahead of you when the road takes a sharp bend to the right.

    Hulbert Outdoor Center is an outdoor education and conference center at the north end of 2½-mile-long Lake Morey in Fairlee, Vermont, with skating, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing just a short walk away. Hulbert is headquartered in a renovated antique Vermont farmhouse surrounded by six modern heated cabins with shared baths. 3 or 4 rooms per cabin, 4 beds per room. The lodge serves 3 delicious meals a day. Weekend package includes Friday and Saturday night lodging plus all meals from Friday dinner through Sunday lunch for $125 per person per night, taxes included.
